PNoy admin already fulfilling Grace Poe’s promises —Palace

The platform laid out by Senator Grace Poe for her presidential bid in the 2016 elections was already implemented or is in the process of being implemented under the present administration, Malacanang said Wednesday night.

Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda likewise dismissed Poe's statement that there is no monopoly on the daang matuwid brand of governance, which President Benigno Aquino III popularized.

"On the statement of Sen. Grace Poe that we do not have a monopoly on Daang Matuwid, what is clear is we're running on the platform of Daang Matuwid or of continuity of the reforms President Aquino has undertaken," Lacierda said.

"They are running on a campaign of Bagong Umaga or change. All the aspirations that have been enunciated have been implemented or in the process of being implemented," he added.

Aquino has previously named resigned Interior Secretary Manuel "Mar" Roxas II as his anointed successor in 2016.

Aquino and Roxas have both repeatedly wooed Poe to join the administration party, but Poe said she would rather run as an independent candidate with Senator Francis Escudero as her running mate.

"Having said that, we wish Sen. Grace Poe all the best," said Lacierda. —NB, GMA News
