The first presidential debate last February 21 in Cagayan de Oro City gave the Filipino electorate a chance to hear Vice President Jejomar Binay, Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Grace Poe, and former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas speak about their track record and performance and the current issues the country is facing.
Each of them were given at most 90 seconds to respond to questions thrown their way.
Based on the transcript of the debate, “problema” was the most uttered word last Sunday, mentioned 34 times throughout the debate.
“Mindanao” came next with 23 mentions. “Salamat” received 10 while “China” and "Importante" followed with nine mentions each. “Pilipinas” was mentioned eight times. — APG, GMA News
