PILIPINAS DEBATES 2016

Marcos dominates GMA News' #PiliPinasDebates2016 Facebook poll

Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. impressed netizens the most in Sunday's vice presidential leg of the  PiliPinas Debates 2016, according to an online poll conducted by GMA News  via its official Facebook page .

The GMA News poll conducted after the debate saw Marcos cornering 51 percent of 40,158 respondents as of 11:47 p.m. Sunday as the candidate who was able to adequately answer all questions thrown at him during the 3-hour parley.

“Marcos was able to answer them intelligently. Walang halong paninira. Straight to the point,” netizen Jerson Madera said.

Following Marcos in the poll is Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano with 30 percent.

Cayetano had heated exchanges with Marcos during the debate.

"Si Alan pormal pag sumagot, hanga ako sa kanya. Matapang, walang kinatatakutan at makikita mo na kaya kang protektahan at tutulungan. Siya ang bise presidente ko,” Facebook user Mell Layan Lozada commented.

Placing third in the poll is Liberal Party candidate Rep. Leni Robredo with 12 percent.

“Si Leni, simple, sincere and trustworthy. Pwedeng maging inang bayan na pagkakatiwalaan humawak ng malalaking budget sa anomang chairmanship na ibibigay sa kanya,” Danica Oliver-Bacani commented on the Facebook thread.

Rounding up the survey are: Sen. Francisco "Chiz" Escudero (4%), Sen. Gringo Honasan (2%), and Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV (1%).

The next leg of debate will see a return bout of the five presidential candidates on April 24 at the University of Pangasinan. — EPE/APG, GMA News
