MIAA chief warns cab drivers vs. overcharging airport passengers

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal on Tuesday warned abusive taxi drivers against overcharging passengers now that regular taxis are allowed in Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminals.

According to Monreal, the passengers will be given a piece of paper indicating the name of the taxi company, plate number, operator, and the numbers which they can contact in case of a complaint.

Monreal stressed that allowing regular taxis in NAIA terminals would provide passengers alternative mode of transportation.

He also explained that regular taxis will be allowed inside the terminal in batches.

The move is also to address the lack of accredited taxis and vehicles-for-hire to take thousands of domestic and international passengers arriving daily at the airport. —Kiersnerr Gerwin Tacadena/KBK, GMA News
