PNP: 1,323 suspects killed, 21,682 others arrested in war on drugs


The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday said 1,323 drug personalities have been killed while 21,682 others were arrested in the government’s intensified war on drugs.

The latest PNP update covers the period from July 1 up to 6:00 p.m. of September 30.

During that period, 23,179 police operations have been conducted under the PNP's Oplan Double Barrel which targets both big-time and small-time drug dealers.

The latest tally shows that 47 drug suspects were killed in one-and-a-half days.

In its update on September 29, the PNP said 1,276 drug personalities were killed from July 1 up to 6:00 a.m. of that day. 

Project Tokhang 

As for Project Tokhang, where police personnel visit the houses of suspected drug users, the PNP said they have covered 1,478,621 houses during the same period.

A total of 729,915 drug personalities surrendered, including:

  • 52,675 drug pushers, and
  • 677,240 users. 

AFP, PNP casualties

As for the casualties on the side of government troopers, the PNP said 13 police personnel were killed during operations while 36 others were wounded.
