Duterte cusses anew in fresh tirade vs. US over rifles

SUAL, Pangasinan - President Rodrigo Duterte couldn't help but drop expletives anew in a speech on Wednesday while commenting about the United States plan to stop the sale of 26,000 rifles for the Philippine National Police (PNP).

T— ina mo," he said.

Duterte made the comments in a here before sending off Vietnamese fishermen.

Last week, Duterte said he promised God to stop cussing during his flight home from a three-day official visit to Japan.

But later in that news conference, when asked whether he would no longer cuss out frequent targets such as the United States, the European Union, or Senator Leila de Lima, Duterte just replied: "There is always a time."

On Wednesday, he broke that promise at least twice as he expressed resentment against the US for exploiting the Philippines during the American occupation from 1898 to 1946.

"Kasi dapat ninyong intindihin. Hindi ako nag-ano ng Amerikano. Sabi nila na you should be thankful na nabigyan tayo ng armas. P— ina ninyo. Leche," the President said.

This was not the first time that Duterte cursed in a speech after he made the promise.

In a media interview while visiting his parents' graves in Davao City on late Tuesday night, Duterte said "T— ina when he explained anew his war on drugs vis-à-vis criticisms from the United States.

At huwag kayong magkamali pumasok diyan. T— ina tatapusin ko talaga kayo," the President said. —JST, GMA News
