Duterte warns corrupt immigration officers they could be assigned to Jolo

President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday threatened erring Immigration officers that they would be sent to southern Philippines if they continue with their alleged anomalous ways.

Duterte in a speech delivered at an event in Nueva Ecija said that he would not allow government workers to bully the overseas Filipino workers.

"May naririnig ako sa Immigration, sabi ko sa kanila, may magkamali isa sa kanila, supervisor lahat, alis. O isang window diyan nagkamali, anim, tapos naghingi, alis kayong lahat, so with the police, so with everybody there," he said.

"Wala kayong patawad lahat. Doon kayo sa Jolo, kasama kayo sa pulis na gago na nasa Basilan. Wala akong pasensya," he added.

The statement was made amid the overtime pay crisis in the Bureau of Immigration, which caused long queues at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). —NB, GMA News
