Duterte, Robredo ratings drop but still highest among top execs —Pulse Asia
President Rodrigo Duterte, Vice President Leni Robredo, and Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel received the highest approval and trust ratings among top government officials, a recent survey report of the Pulse Asia showed.
Duterte’s latest approval rating at 78 percent is five points down from its 83 percent score in the previous poll conducted in December.
Robredo’s approval rating also dropped by four points to 58 percent from 62 percent. Pimentel’s approval score remained at 55 percent.
The nationwide survey was conducted on 1,200 adults 18 years old and above on March 15 to 20.
Respondents were asked to grade the performance of top government officials—Duterte, Robredo, Pimentel, House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, and Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
The survey has a ± 3% error margin at the 95% confidence level, while subnational estimates for each of the geographic areas have a ± 6% error margin, also at 95% confidence level.
Alvarez and Sereno, on the other hand, received less than majority approval ratings.
The House Speaker got 40 percent, three points down in the previous poll. Sereno’s approval rating also decreased by five points from 47 to 42 percent.
Duterte, meanwhile, is the biggest loser in the trust ratings. His score decreased to 76 percent to 83 percent. Robredo only lost two points to 56 percent from 58 percent.
Pimentel is the only official who improved his trust rating at 51 percent from 50 percent.
Alvarez with 37 percent and Sereno with 40 percent lost a point each in their trust ratings.
Of the five officials, Robredo received the highest disapproval and small/no trust ratings, both at 16 percent. —NB, GMA News
