Supt. Marcos reports for work at CIDG Region 12

Superintendent Marvin Marcos, one of the accused in the killing of Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa, reported Monday to his new assignment as officer-in-charge of Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Region 12.

Chief Superintendent Cedrick Train, Region 12 police chief, confirmed this to GMA News Online.

“Opo, nag-courtesy call na po siya,” Train said in a text message when asked if Marcos had reported for his new assignment.

Train said he just asked Marcos to do his job well.

“Trabaho lang nang maayos, ‘yun ang sabi ko sa kanya,” he replied when asked what they discussed during the courtesy call.

At a press conference, PNP chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa said there is a possibility that Marcos would still be replaced from his post once his appeal before the Directorate for Personnel and Resource Management would be denied.

“Once ma-resolve namin yung kanyang motion for reconsideration, granting na i-deny namin yung MR n’ya so we will implement the decision of IAS (Internal Affairs Service) which I concurred and signed the resolution na meron siyang four months suspension,” Dela Rosa said.

“Once suspended, he cannot hold office,” he added.

The IAS recommendation was sent to the PNP chief’s office in March.

The DPRM is set to resolve this week the appeal of Espinosa and other police personnel.

Dela Rosa said they do not want to railroad the decision as it might backfire.

“Mahirap na bilisan kaagad at ‘pag binilisan namin e mabilis din ‘yung sipa sa amin,” he said.

He said that whatever their decision will be, some sectors will not be happy.

“Wala kaming magaling na decision pagdating d’yan. Damn if you do, and damn if you don’t. Kapag hindi masunod yung gusto nila talagang tatamaan ka,” he said. — RSJ/KVD, GMA News
