PNP's dela Rosa to lead retraining of relieved Caloocan cops

The Philippine National Police's top cop, Director General Ronald dela Rosa himself, would lead the retraining of the Caloocan City police officers who had been relieved from their posts, a News TV Live report said on Sunday.

Caloocan City's 1,143-man police force would begin their 45-day retraining and reorganization program on October 2.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Oscar Albayalde had relieved the city's police force due to numerous complaints, including the killings of teenagers Kian Loyd delos Santos and Carl Angelo Arnaiz, and a supposed illegal raid.

On Friday, nearly 1,000 members of the Regional Public Safety Battalion of the NCRPO replaced the relieved Caloocan City policemen. — Anna Felicia Bajo/DVM, GMA News
