The Philippine Coast Guard gave arrival honors for the remains of two of its men killed in the blasts that ripped through the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral in Jolo, Sulu last Sunday, leaving 20 people dead.

Chino Gaston reported on "News To Go" that the remains of Leo Herbolario along with seaman Second Class Jaypee Galicha arrived on a C295 transport plane at the Villamor Airbase shortly before 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Herbolario and Galicha are among the 20 people killed in the twin blasts in Jolo that also injured 111 others.

As the body of Galicha reached the PCG headquarters, he was given arrival honors by his colleagues.

Dogs from K-9 unit in attendance

More than the men and women who lined up for the the arrival of his remains, the dogs from Galicha's K-9 Unit were also present at the welcome ceremony.

Galicha's brother said the death of their youngest brother has become a great loss in the family.

After the death of their parents, it was the siblings who helped each other with their studies.

Special Police Officer 1 Nathaniel Galicha said, "Kahit sino man, lalo na bunso namin, masa-shock talaga."

"Ever since, paborito talaga siya namin. Kahit 'yung mother namin bago namatay 'yun, ibinilin sa amin 'yun. Kahit sino, siya ang baby namin."

Herbolario's remains will be brought to Caloocan City while Galicha's will be prepared for burial in the Philippine Coast Guard Chapel in Parola Compound of the PCG before sending the remains to Romblon, where he will lay in peace beside the remains of his parents. —Kaela Malig/LBG, GMA News
