No final list of appointees yet to Bangsamoro Transition Authority —OPAPP

The Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) on Sunday clarified that no list of appointees to the Bangsamoro Transition Authority has been released yet, contrary to posts circulating in social media.

"There is as of yet no final and official list of appointees for the Bangsamoro Transition Authority. Hence, the list being circulated on various social media platforms is fake," the OPAPP said in a statement.

The OPAPP said it has already submitted to the Office of the President a list of nominees.

President Rodrigo Duterte will be the one to appoint officials in the Bangsamoro Transition Authority, the OPAPP said.

"OPAPP advises the public to be prudent and judicious about what they see and share on social media," it added.

The Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) calls for the establishment of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Mindanao (BARMM) which will initially be headed by an 80-member Bangsamoro Transition Authority.

Plebiscites were conducted on January 21 and February 6 for the ratification of the BOL. —KG, GMA News
