Suspect in slay of ex-make-up artist to Alden Richards, Maxine Medina nabbed in Cavite

Authorities arrested on Thursday the suspect involved in the killing of the former make-up artist of Alden Richards and Miss Universe Philippines 2016 Maxine Medina following the service of an arrest warrant in Dasmarinas City, Cavite.

In a statement, the Calabarzon Police Regional Office said elements from the Calabarzon Regional Intelligence Division and the Cavite Provincial Intelligence Team/Regional Special Operations Unit nabbed the suspect, John Rondolf Famadico, at Barangay Langkaan 2 around 10:30 a.m.

Famadico was arrested for the crime of robbery with homicide.

The victim, 33-year-old Dindo Malig, was found with a smashed skull and several stab wounds at a grassy patch in General Trias, Cavite in November 2017.

According to investigation, Famadico and his fellow suspects had a drinking session with Malig at his house on the night of his death.

The suspects took the belongings of Malig and hit his head with a hammer. His body was then dumped in a field about 200 meters away from his home.

One of the suspects, a minor, surrendered and confessed that he committed the crime with two accomplices.

Regional Director Chief Superintendent Edward Carranza lauded the efforts of the arresting team and assured to Malig's family that the police force will continue its manhunt against the remaining suspect.

“We are making sure that the other suspect to the killing of Malig will fall in the hands of the authorities. We would like to assure the family that efforts will be maximized so that the remaining suspect to the killing will be put behind bars and that justice will be served,” Carranza said.

Malig worked as a make up artist for GMA's TV programs "Wagas" and "Da Originals." His clients also include actors Katrina Halili and Nora Aunor. — MDM, GMA News
