Albayalde defends Eleazar: Kung minsan hindi mo maiwasan 'yung outburst

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Oscar Albayalde on Thursday defended National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Major General Guillermo Eleazar for losing his temper in confronting an erring cop of the Eastern Police District (EPD).

Pareho din 'yan na minsan napapalo natin 'yung mga anak natin sa bahay," Albayalde said in an interview on Unang Balita.

Albayalde said the police are doing everything in order to achieve change and show good image to the public.

The PNP chief said since President Rodrigo Duterte took office, more than 8,000 erring policemen were already disciplined. A total of 2,528 were dismissed while 4,511 others had been suspended.

On Wednesday, Police Corporal Marlo Siblao Quibete was nabbed in an entrapment operation led by the PNP Counter Intelligence Task Force (CITF) over accusation of extortion.

When Eleazar met the accused cop, the NCRPO chief lost his temper. He scolded, collared and angrily held the head of the EPD cop.

Eleazar already apologized over his action, although he said the erring policeman deserves the treatment.
