On campaign trail, candidates always sweep through public markets


With sure crowd, public markets have become one of the preferred places where candidates for the May 2019 senatorial race campaign for votes.

According to Cedric Castillo's report on GMA's 24 Oras, several candidates toured public markets on Tuesday, March 12.

Senator Grace Poe visited Burgos Public market in Bacolod City to mingle with the vendors and customers, before meeting with students.

Former Senator Mar Roxas also continued his market tour in Negros.

Otso Direstso candidate Gary Alejano campaigned in Cebu, while Senator Bam Aquino was in Negros Occidental.

Fellow Otso Diretso bets Chel Diokno, Samira Gutoc and Romulo Macalintal held a dialogue with some residents in Mandaluyong, one of the cities hit by the water supply shortage.

The administration-backed Hugpong ng Pagbabago was led President Rodrigo Duterte's son Baste as they barnstormed Camarines Norte.  He was joined by Jiggy Manicad and Dong Mangudadatu.

Senator JV Ejercito went to Bulacan, while Jinggoy Estrada graced a conference in Baguio City.

Neri Colmenares joined consumers protesting outside the office of the Metropolitan water Works and Sewerage System, while Shariff Albani visited Zamboanga Sibugay.

Dan Roleda and Sonny Matula attended the preparations of labor groups for May 1, while Lito Lapid held a motorcade in Isabela.
