The Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU) is now backtracking on the activities of Korean fugitive Lee Yun Sung to seek out other foreign nationals who may be working with him in his illegal drug trade in the Philippines.

BI - FSU agents and Korean police arrested Lee in Caloocan city upon the request of the Korean government after courts in Seoul issued three warrant of arrests for violation of the Korean Act on the Control of Narcotics and 5 counts of drug smuggling.

Bob Raquepo, BI - FSU chief, said Korean counterparts disclosed to BI that for years, Lee has been smuggling drugs particularly shabu from Manila to Korea through air freights.

Authorities are now tracking down other members of his group.

Efforts are also being undertaken to determine whether the methamphetamine flown to Korea was made here in the Philippines or if the country served only as a transhipment point for the illegal drugs.  — BAP, GMA News
