Duterte tags Lucena, Batangas for drugs

President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday pointed to the prevalence of illegal drugs in Lucena City in Quezon and in Batangas, two areas with mayors now facing administrative charges for their alleged involvement in the narcotics business.

Duterte made the statement in a speech at the PDP-Laban campaign rally in Batangas City which was attended by provincial Governor Hermilando Mandanas.

"Please do not be offended. Tutal para sa bayan man 'to at wala ho akong tinutukoy na tao dito. I talk on general terms but apparently Lucena and Batangas right now appears to be with a red flag in the map sa drug scene," the President said.

"Marami. Kaya bukas mag-harvest na naman tayo. Kaligaya ko na lang pumatay ng p___inang kriminal," he added.

Of the 46 "narco politicians" named last month by the President, three are from Batangas (Lemery town Mayor Eulalio Mendoza Alilio and Ibaan town Mayor Juan Toreja) and Lucena (Lucena Mayor Roderick Alcala).

Alcala has denied the allegation which he said was politically motivated. —LDF, GMA News
