PPCRV sees ‘no discrepancies’ between physical, electronic returns so far

Election watchdog Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) has so far seen "no discrepancies" between physical election returns and electronically transmitted results, an official said Thursday.

"We see no discrepancies at this point. Everything that has been encoded has been proven to be what the electronic returns are saying. So far, so good," PPCRV media director Agnes Gervacio told reporters.

She added that the PPCRV has received almost past 15% of physical election returns from across the country.

PPCRV volunteers encode the returns -- which were printed before vote-counting machines transmitted results to Comelec servers on Election Day -- into computers for checking against the electronically transmitted results.

"Everything that has been received and encoded have a total match to what is being shown electronically on the board," Gervacio said. "Everything is matching. We have no reason to have any concern whatsoever."

The media director also said they have not seen any irregularities in the condition of the physical election returns the PPCRV has been receiving.

As of 11:04 a.m. Thursday, 85,568 of 86,769 local clustered precincts have transmitted results. —RSJ/MDM, GMA News
