Advincula now under PNP custody

Peter Joemel Advincula, the man who claimed to be "Bikoy" in the series of anti-Duterte videos, is now under the custody of the Philippine National Police, according to Mark Makalalad's report on Dobol B sa News TV on Thursday.

At a press conference in Camp Crame, PNP chief Police General Oscar Albayalde said Advincula "has come forward to seek police custody."

"Advincula heeded to my call to surrender and face the string of criminal cases filed against him by persons he allegedly defrauded in Bicol and Baguio," Albayalde said.

The PNP chief said Advincula, who is the subject of a warrant of arrest for estafa and large scale illegal recruitment, sent surrender feelers after the PNP launched manhunt operations to locate him.

"Advincula is now under our custody after the warrant of arrest was served. He will undergo booking procedure and debriefing prior to the return of the warrant of arrest to the court of origin," Albayalde said.

Advincula surfaced at the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) office earlier this month and said he is "Bikoy," the narrator of the "Ang Totoong Narcolist" videos which linked the First Family and former Special Assistant to the President and incoming Senator Christopher "Bong" Go to the illegal drug trade.

The IBP has rejected Advincula's request for legal assistance. —KBK, GMA News
