Linking me to Archimedes Trajano's death is unfair, illogical —Imee

Senator-elect Imee Marcos on Thursday said it is "unfair" and "illogical" that she was tagged in the killing of Archimedes Trajano, a student activist who was killed in 1977 during Martial Law days.

The neophyte senator said she was still a minor when the incident took place, adding that she was not in the Philippines during the time of Trajano's death.

"That's a mysterious accusation, I'm puzzled by the charges dahil mga bata pa kami. We're 15, 16... I wasn't even in the Philippines... Sabi nila may kinalaman kami sa mga nangyari. I'm very mystified kasi ang liit pa namin and we had no direct... di naman kami employed diyan," Marcos said in an interview on ANC.

"Wala kaming command responsibility sa mga sundalo o pulis so it's really unfair. I think it's illogical, we were minors [then]," she added.

Trajano, a student of the Mapua Institute of Technology, questioned Imee Marcos' appointment to lead the Kabataang Barangay, a national youth organization giving the young ones a definite role in community affairs.

Days after criticizing Imee's appointment, Trajano's body, bearing signs of severe torture, was found.

According to Marcos, the case has been dismissed twice.

She also said she does not remember Trajano: "No idea, I don't even remember the incident being referred to because I used to do a lot of school fora." —Anna Felicia Bajo/LBG, GMA News
