PNP: 8 killed in 51 post-election violent incidents


The Philippine National Police (PNP) has recorded a total of 51 violent incidents after the May 13 midterm elections.

At a press conference on Thursday, PNP spokesman Police Colonel Bernard Banac said of the 51 incidents, eight were killed while 14 others were injured.

"Of the 51 incidents recorded, eight were killed, 14 were wounded and 29 unharmed," Banac said.

According to Banac, the incidents happened from May 14 to 29.

Banac said 21 cases have been solved while 22 others are still being probed by authorities.

Banac said PNP chief Police General Oscar Albayalde vowed to run after the perpetrators of the violent incidents.  —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
