Erwin Tulfo out of country, yet to surrender firearms —PNP's Banac

Broadcaster Erwin Tulfo is currently abroad, and has not surrendered his firearms yet as ordered, the Philippine National Police said Thursday.

"Ang pinakahuli nating ulat na natanggap ay nasa abroad si Mr. Erwin Tulfo kaya di pa naaaksyunan ang kaniyang renewal at 'yung pagsuko ng firearms," PNP spokesman Police Colonel Bernard Banac said in a press briefing.

Banac said Tulfo left the country before authorities notified him about the expiration of his License To Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF).

According to Banac, the PNP will make a followup next week to inquire when the radio personality intends to surrender his firearms.

"Inaalam na lang natin kung kelan ang kaniyang pagbalik nang sa gayon ay matupad niya ang kanilang ipinangako na isuko ang baril at mag-renew ng license," Banac said.

Police earlier said Tulfo's LTOPF expired last March 3.

PNP chief Police General Oscar Albayalde warned Tulfo that authorities would be forced to undertake police action if Tulfo fails to surrender his firearms. —Anna Felicia Bajo/LBG, GMA News
