Robredo to attend Duterte's fourth SONA

Vice President Leni Robredo will attend the fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte on July 22.

Her office confirmed her attendance on Monday, July 15.

Robredo used to be a part of President Duterte’s cabinet as secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC).

Her stint in the Cabinet, however, was short lived.

Robredo was banned from attending Cabinet meetings in December 2016 after Duterte accused Liberal Party (LP), which she chairs, of plotting his ouster.

She had denied involvement in an ouster plot against the President, saying that such move is not good for the country.

Robredo has always attended the President’s SONA since 2016 but shuns media interviews after the event. —LDF, GMA News
