CAAP sets no-fly zone, drone limits for SONA 2019

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines on Saturday set a no-fly zone and drone limits as part of security measures for President Rodrigo Duterte's State of the Nation Address on Monday.

In an advisory, CAAP said it has raised the vertical limit for drones and aircraft to 8,000 feet above ground level from 10:47 a.m. of Saturday, July 20, to 11 a.m. of Sunday, July 21.

This is "to further ensure the security and proper monitoring of the airspace within the vicinity of the Batasan Pambansa for the President's State of the Nation Address on Monday, July 22," CAAP said.

The no fly zone meanwhile will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 22, and will cover a 10-kilometer radius surrounding Plaridel, Bulacan. —KG, GMA News
