PCSO charity work to continue amid suspension of lotto, other games

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office's charity work will continue despite the order of President Rodrigo Duterte to stop all its gaming operations, an official said on Monday.

"Tuloy pa rin ang charity works. The order is very specific, to i-stop lang lahat ng gamings including transactions in relation to gamings,” PCSO general manager Royina Garma said in a video posted by Super Radyo dzBB’s Mark Makalalad.

According to the official, the PCSO has already allocated fund for their assistance program.

“Meron na kaming pondo kasi nakaprogram naman yung assistance na ibibigay sa nangaingailangan especially medical assistance,” she added.

Duterte earlier ordered the closure of all gaming operations under the PCSO due to alleged corruption. —Joviland Rita/NB, GMA News
