Poe calls out MMDA chair Lim for skipping Senate hearing on traffic woes

Senator Grace Poe on Tuesday questioned the absence of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairperson Danilo Lim at the Senate hearing on the provincial bus ban and other transportation problems affecting the flow of traffic on EDSA.

“Nalulungkot ako na ang chairman ng MMDA ay hindi dumalo, sabi niya dadalo siya,” Poe, public services committee chairperson, said during the hearing,

In response, MMDA general manager Jojo Garcia said Lim was with them early in the morning but had to beg off because of a memorandum of agreement signing which they cannot reschedule.

Garcia, however, cannot recall who the other party will be in the MOA signing.

With his absence, Poe wondered if Lim was really serious in resolving the traffic problem.

“Hindi n’yo nga alam kung sino yung kasamang pipirma, ano ba naman yung pirmahan ng limang minuto at pumunta dito. Huwag n’yo isipin na hindi matutuloy ang araw n’yo dito,” she said. — RSJ, GMA News
