Army asks parents: Keep students away from communist recruitment

The Philippine Army spokesman on Wednesday appealed to parents to watch closely the activities their children amid the reported leftist groups' aggressive recruitment of students in campuses.

Zagala pointed out that students should be made aware of the dangers of communist indoctrination so that they will not be easily swayed and recruited by left-leaning organizations and join the revolution.

Zagala said.

Meanwhile, the Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs' is investigating the cases of students who have gone missing since they allegedly joined left-leaning groups.

Their mothers had testified at the Senate inquiry and narrated how their children were recruited by said groups.

One of the missing, identified as Alicia Lucena, denied claims that she was kidnapped. She said she left home due to family issues. —LBG, GMA News
