SC presents revised rule on law student practice to US envoy Kim
The Supreme Court on Wednesday turned over a copy of its revised rule on law student practice to United States Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim.
In a ceremony held at the SC en banc session hall, Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin said the revised rule will "enable us to quicken the shift to experiential legal education to be adopted by our law schools."

Bersamin expressed his appreciation for what he said was the US Embassy's support in the Philippine judiciary's effort to enhance legal education in the country, sharing that the revision of the Rules of Court was initiated after he led a delegation in a trip to study legal aid clinics in the US last year.
The revised Rule 138-A of the Rules of Court states that "a law student must now be certified to be able to engage in the limited practice of law," according to the SC's Public Information Office.
Promulgated by the Court last June 25, the revised rule will take effect at the start of the academic year 2020-2021.
Also present during Wednesday's presentation were Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio and Associate Justices Diosdado Peralta, Alexander Gesmundo, Andres Reyes, Jr., Ramon Paul Hernando, and Henri Jean Paul Inting. — BM, GMA News
