Albayalde names new director for operations


Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Oscar Albayalde on Thursday named Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Luis Licup as acting PNP Director for Operations.

According to PNP spokesman Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, Licup will replace Police Major General Mao Aplasca who is retiring today, August 22.

Licup, who is now tasked to manage the operations of police regional offices and national operational support units, was the former Deputy Director of the PNP Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM).

Banac said Licup would assist Albayalde in supervising and directing police operations; organization, employment and deployment of police personnel; and public safety training of the PNP.

Albayalde, meanwhile, appointed Police Brigadier General Rodolfo Azurin as the new Deputy Director of the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.

Other senior officers designated to new posts are the following:

Police Brigadier General Adolfo Samala Jr - Deputy Director, Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development

Police Colonel Rolando Miranda - Acting Executive Officer, Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development

Police Colonel Robert Rodriguez - Acting Executive Officer, Directorate for Personnel and Records Management.
