Military looking for 2 remaining suicide bombers —Wesmincom chief

The chief of the Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) on Monday disclosed that the military is on the lookout for two more suicide bombers.

Lieutenant General Cirilito Sobejana told reporters that based on their intelligence information there were five suicide bombers, three of whom have blown themselves up.

These include Norman Lasuca, the first Filipino suicide bomber who was involved in the explosion inside a military camp in Indanan last June and the other bomber who was still unidentified. The third one was the female suicide bomber who had failed to attack the military detachment in the same town on Sunday.

"We know na merong lima di ba, dalawa sumabog na si Norman Lasuca at saka 'yung isang hanggang ngayon hindi pa natin na-identify, lima man 'yung nabasbasan or binigyan na ng tasking to explode themselves so tatlo 'yung inaabangan natin, minomonitor natin closely kung saan sila at 'yun nga pumutok 'yung isa kahapon so dalawa na 'yung naiwan," Sobejana explained.

He assured that the security forces are already tracing the location of the remaining suicide bombers.

"Kasaluyan nating inaano, kung alam natin 'yung exact location niyan eh di na-neutralize na natin, ginagawa namin 'yung lahat ng magagawa natin para malocate 'yun at ma-neutralize before they are able to explode themselves," Sobejana said.

Meanwhile, Sobejana said a pipe bomb was used in the thwarted attack at KM3 Detachment of the 35th Infantry Battalion.

"Mga pipe 'yun, parang ano siya tube, tubular siya... paikot 'yan, alam mo 'yung parang dynamite 'yun, pinapaikot sa katawan," Sobejana said.

Sobejana earlier said the samples of the remains of the woman suicide bomber, who was Caucasian-looking, would undergo DNA testing to determine her nationality. —LDF, GMA News
