PDEA chief Aquino: 53 ‘ninja’ cops, 2 anti-drug agents included in list submitted to Duterte

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) chief Director General Aaron Aquino bared that 53 policemen were included in the list of "ninja" cops or those policemen involved in illegal drug activities.

But Aquino told GMA News Online that not all policemen on the list are on active  service.

Aside from the 53 policemen, there were two PDEA agents on the said list, according to Aquino.

The PDEA chief said the list has been submitted to President Rodrigo Duterte.

Aquino said the document given to the President was a consolidated list from the PDEA, the Philippine National Police and Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, former chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

Earlier, PNP chief Police General Oscar Albayalde said it is up to the Chief Executive's discretion if he will disclose the names of the alleged ninja cops.

Albayalde said he had a meeting with Duterte on Wednesday regarding updates on the government's campaign against illegal drugs.

"It's up to the President. Nasa kanya na 'yun and let's give him space and enough time to decide," Albayalde said. — RSJ, GMA News
