7th suspect in Dormitorio death identified —police

A seventh suspect has been identified by authorities on Sunday in relation to the hazing death of Philippine Military Academy Cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio.

Baguio City chief of police Police Colonel Allen Rae Co said they are preparing charges against the newly identified suspect for violation of the Anti-Hazing Law, and murder.

Co said the suspect was not involved in the beatings of Dormitorio on September 17, but in previous incidents.

Dormitorio had been maltreated repeatedly by fellow cadets prior to his death on September 18. He was confined at the PMA Station Hospital from August 20 to 27 after complaining of stomach and chest pains.

The slain cadet was laid to rest in his hometown of Cagayan de Oro City on September 25. —Julia Mari Ornedo/LBG, GMA News
