Año on suspects in PMA Cadet Dormitorio’s death: ‘Kailangan makulong ang mga ito’

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año on Tuesday said the cadets suspected to be behind the death of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Cadet Fourth Class Darwin Dormitorio should be put in jail.

“Tama lang talaga na sampahan natin ng kaso ito. At kailangan makulong ang mga ito,” Año said in an interview on Dobol B sa News TV.

According to Año, a complaint will be filed in two days against the seven suspects in Dormitorio’s death.

“Maaaring two days from now, maisasampa na  nila yung kaso sa piskal,” he said.

“Nakita nating yung pitong kadete na ito talagang sila yung halos nagpahirap sa buhay ni Dormitorio simula pa noong Agosto,” he added.

According to Año, the suspects were forcing Dormitorio to quit through a series of torture.

Año said Dormitorio was confined on August 20 at the PMA Hospital after he was hazed for spending half of his allowance of P4,000, which was “supposed to be used for their needs.”

A case of hazing was reported to his tactical officer, who initiated an investigation on the incident. Some cadets tried to silence Dormitorio, but he still named the cadets who inflicted harm on him, Año said.

“Doon nagsimula yung pag-iinit sa kanya,” he added.
