Gordon, Drilon ask Korean Embassy's help in bringing back suspected drug lord Johnson Lee

Senator Richard Gordon said Wednesday they have asked the help of the Korean Embassy to bring back to the Philippines suspected drug lord Johnson Lee.

“I asked the Korean ambassador last night, (Minority Leader Franklin) Drilon and I went to the Korean Embassy. I just went there and I gave them a letter to try and retrieve Johnson Lee back to the Philippines,” Gordon said during the hearing of the blue ribbon and justice committees on “ninja cops.”

“We are asking their cooperation para mabalik si Johnson Lee,” he said.

Lee was the supposed owner of the house in Woodbridge Subdivision, Lakeshore View, Pampanga which was raided by 13 members of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force of the Pampanga Provincial Police Office.

Police officers reported they only seized 36 kilograms of shabu but the investigation and reenactment conducted showed that some 200 kilograms of shabu were in fact confiscated from the place.

The team was then led by Major Rodney Baloyo IV.

Incumbent Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, former Criminal Investigation and Detection Group chief, said Lee was able to escape the buy-bust operation and sought help from barangay officials.

However, the barangay officials got suspicious when the foreigner offered them money to bring him to Angeles City.

The barangay officials then called the police in Mexico, Pampanga who returned Lee to the venue.

Magalong said instead of bringing Lee to the provincial police office, he was let go in exchange of P50 million. The police could not say where Lee is now.

He said the police then arrested Ding Wenkun and presented him at a press conference as the owner of the illegal drugs.

Charges filed against Ding Wenkun were later dismissed.

During the hearing, Gordon asked SPO1 Dante Dizon and PO3 Dindo Dizon if they knew Ding Wenkun to which they replied in the affirmative.

The police officers said they were the back up officers when Ding Wenkun was arrested.

They also denied knowing Lee.

Gordon then threatened them with perjury.

“Kung magdadala ako sa susunod na hearing ng tao na magsasabing kilala n’yo si Johnson Lee, you’ll be in perjury,” he said. — RSJ, GMA News
