PNP OIC Gamboa inspects Cubao bus terminal ahead of Undas

Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge Police Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa on Tuesday inspected the bus terminal in Cubao, Quezon City to ensure the safety of travelers for the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day holidays.

"Meron tayong mga area of security in the different areas of convergence especially ngayon sa mga travelers dito sa mga bus stations and then sa airports because we expect 'yung napakaraming tao probably on Thursday kasi ang Friday I think is a holiday," Gamboa told reporters.

"As a matter of fact 'yung declaration ko na full alert yesterday was the beginning for our preparation for the security measures para sa holidays until Monday," he added.

More or less 35,000 personnel will be deployed nationwide to ensure the security and safety of the public, according to the PNP.

Police also said nearly 100,000 volunteers are set to augment the police force.

Gamboa reiterated that the police have not monitored any threat yet; but he ensured that the PNP is ready to prevent any untoward incident.

"At the first instance na meron, then we will beef up our preparations but in any case prepared naman kami in any eventuality," Gamboa said.

Gamboa also reminded the public not to post their whereabouts or plans during the holidays. He added that if families plan to leave their residences, they should inform their neighbors as well.

"I-remind namin 'yung publiko to be very conscious doon sa security aspect lalo na kung iwanan niyo 'yung bahay, huwag magpost sa Facebook kung nasaan kayo at baka malaman na walang tao sa bahay niyo and ibilin ninyo sa kapitbahay niyo kung hindi maiwasan na maiwanan niyo," he said. —KBK, GMA News
