Sotto’s advice to those who know nothing about the war on drugs: Zip it!

Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Wednesday advised those who know nothing about the illegal drug trade: Zip it!

In a Twitter post, Sotto, a former chairperson of the Dangerous Drugs Board, said the war on illegal drugs is an ongoing struggle.

One will fail if he will stop fighting. So those who “do not know this complex crime, ‘Zip it!’”

On Tuesday, the Senate leader said President Rodrigo Duterte should appoint Vice President Leni Robredo as DDB chair and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency director general.

Duterte has said he would cede his law enforcement powers to Robredo for six months after the Vice President criticized the administration anew regarding its war on drugs.

The Vice President did not bite the bait, adding that she has yet to get any formal notice.

“Sasagutin ko kapag nakatanggap na ako, kasi as of now, speculative lahat. Unang una, wala pa naman akong natatanggap. Sunod, kung may matanggap man, kailangan ko mabasa muna.

She said that the war on drugs has failed in certain aspects.

Opposition lawmakers said if Duterte is serious about his statement, he should give Robredo not just six months but the rest of his remaining term. —VDS, GMA News
