Lacson says Robredo wants to meet with him over anti-drug campaign

Senator Panfilo Lacson on Thursday said that Vice President Leni Robredo has arranged to meet with him to discuss the government’s campaign against illegal drugs.

Lacson said it was the Vice President who texted him to meet with her. He added that they are now fixing the schedule for the meeting.

“We are fixing our schedule to sit down,” he said when asked on the matter.

He said he is grateful and humbled by Robredo’s gesture.

“More than that, it shows her sincerity and seriousness in tackling her new  task,” the senator added.

On Wednesday, Lacson, former Philippine National Police chief, said that he is ready and willing to “humbly share whatever modest law enforcement experience I gained in my previous life.”

In a statement after Robredo accepted her designation to co-chair the Inter-agency Committee against Illegal Drugs, the senator said the public should give the Vice President all the support she needs to contribute her share in battling the problem of illegal drugs that destroys lives, families, and the youth. — MDM, GMA News
