Andanar commends police, Palace task force on arrest of suspects in Dumaguete radio broadcaster slay

Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar on Friday welcomed the arrest of suspects in the killing of Dumaguete radio broadcaster Dindo Generoso.

Andanar commended the police and the Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS) for the “swift and successful operations” against Glenn Corsame, a retired personnel of the Negros Oriental police, and Teddy Reyes Salaw.

“The arrest of the suspects is just the beginning of our quest to bring justice for Generoso and his family,” the Palace official said.

“This also shows the relentless determination of President Duterte and the PTFoMS, as well as the entire administration in addressing the threats to our media professionals and to solving all forms of violence against media, especially killings.”

Appropriate charges are being readied by the authorities against the two suspects, who are allegedly under the employ of a “powerful politician” in the province based on reports that reached the PTFoMS, according to Andanar’s office.

Generoso was on his way to his morning radio program on Thursday when his car was shot at by still unidentified gunmen just outside a public elementary school in Barangay Piapi.
