Partial release of license plates to begin Monday —LTO

The partial release of motor vehicle license plates will begin on Monday, according to the Land Transportation Office.

In a Facebook post last Thursday, the LTO also said that the partial delivery of license plates will be for motor vehicles registered between January and June 2016.

Vehicle owners can check the availability of their license plates through their car dealers or at www.lto.net.ph.

Last March, the LTO purchased a license-plate-making robot, in a bid to eliminate their eight-million backlog that accrued due to a 2014 notice of disallowance issued by the Commission on Audit.

The order against the release of 700,000 license plates was lifted by the Supreme Court last January. —Julia Mari Ornedo/LBG, GMA News
