PNP awards bid for P289-M body camera system

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has awarded the bid for its P289 million body camera system to a San Juan City-based company.

In a statement, PNP Officer in Charge Archie Gamboa said the bid was awarded to EVI Distribution at the contract price of P289 million for the supply and delivery of a body camera system for police operations.

“This system is expected to equip our police units in support to our anti-criminality and anti-terrorism operations including mission-essential equipment for mobility and investigation,” he said.

The PNP’s Bids and Awards Committee will assess the performance of the winning proponent before they issue the supply contract and purchase order by the end of the year.

Gamboa also said the PNP will procure a system that will allow complete system management, real-time live streaming, data storage and backup, overall connectivity and monitoring, and establish a National Management and Monitoring Center.

The national monitoring center, 17 regional centers, and 81 provincial centers will be manned by the PNP Information Technology Management Service. —LDF, GMA News
