According to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology's (PHIVOLCS) hazard map, a number of barangays in Batangas are susceptible to Taal Volcano tsunami or lakewater oscillation.
PHIVOLCS said the Taal Volcano eruption might cause volcano tsunami, ballistic projectile, and base surge that might have hazardous effects in areas in Batangas.
The ballistic projectile or materials spewed from the vent of the volcano may reach 5 kilometers from the crater, according to PHIVOLCS.
Meanwhile, the base surge or pyroclastic density current with gas and volcanic rock may reach 14 kilometers from the main crater.
They also warned a possible volcanic tsunami with height expected to be up to 3 meters should a strong eruption happen.
Here's the list of high-risk Barangays in Batangas.
