PNP undergoes revamp; Cascolan named PNP’s No. 2 man


Police Lieutenant General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan has been designated as  second-in-command of the Philippine National Police (PNP), the PNP Public Information Office said Wednesday.

Following the appointment of Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa as the new PNP chief, Cascolan is now the deputy chief for administration following a special order dated January 19, 2020.

Meanwhile, Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar is now the deputy chief for operations, the number three man of the police organization.

The PNP's number four man is Police Major General Cesar Hawthorne Binag, after being designated the new chief of the directorial staff. Binag earlier served as the chief of the PNP's Directorate for Information, Communication and Technology Management.

Other officials designated to new posts are the following:

  • Police Brigadier General Rex dela Rosa - Deputy Regional Director for Administration of the Central Luzon
  • Police Colonel Bernard Tambaoan - Acting Deputy Regional Director for Administration, SOCCSKSARGEN
  • Police Colonel Nickson Muksan - Deputy Director, PNP Training Service
  • Police Colonel Vincent Calanoga - Assistant Chief, Human Rights Affairs Office Police
  • Colonel Ferlu Silvio - Foreign Liaison Division, Directorate for Intelligence
  • Police Brig. Gen. Eliseo dela Cruz Cruz is designated Highway Patrol group director
  • Police Brig. Gen. Dionardo Bernardo Carlos is designated acting director for Information and Communication Technology
  • Police Col. Rhoderick Custodio Armamento is designated acting deputy director for Administration, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group

According to the PNP-PIO, the latest revamp was part of the reformation of the organization based on the evaluation of their efficiency of performance.

Gamboa earlier said a reshuffle within PNP has always been subject to the approval of President Rodrigo Duterte and Interior Secretary Eduardo Año. — RSJ/BM/BAP, GMA News
