Duterte says he won’t curse Trump

President Rodrigo Duterte vowed not to let out expletive-laden remarks  against his American counterpart Donald Trump, who enjoys a cordial relationship with the tough-talking Philippine leader.

Duterte gave the statement in an interview by Russia's state-owned media outlet, RT, aired on Friday, in which he brought up anew his dislike of Trump’s predecessor Barack Obama.

“I would never do it to Trump because he’s a very nice person. Actually, Trump is a nice person. It’s just his style of doing things,” the President said. “Maybe he wants to teach some leaders also.”

Unlike Trump, Obama had been at the receiving end of Duterte’s tongue-lashing.

Duterte, angered by the Obama administration's comments on the drug war in 2016, had called Obama a "son of bitch" who could "go to hell."
