14-year-old raped by suspect she met on Facebook

A meeting between a 14-year-old girl and the suitor she met on Facebook ended appallingly when the 18-year-old suspect allegedly raped her at his home.

According to Mav Gonzales' Sunday report on 24 Oras Weekend, “Jella” met the suspect through a Facebook group where they both used fake pictures and names to hide their real identities.

The two began talking in January and met up in person for the first time in a mall on February 13.

Jella, her younger sibling, and the suspect spent time in an amusement center.

CCTV footage showed the three walking along Sta. Mesa afterward and stopping by at a convenience store to eat.

After bringing Jella’s younger sibling home, the suspect then took the young girl to his house where she even met his parents.

Jella’s parents reported her as missing to barangay officials and the police when she did not return home for two days.

On Saturday, she was brought back home by the suspect.

Jella’s parents noticed that she barely spoke since her return.

“Pinipilit daw nung lalaki sa kanya na makipag-sex. And then ang sabi ng anak ko na ayaw niya. Pero ginawa lang daw ng lalaki, hinalikan lang daw siya. Nag-doubt ako, kasi two days niyang kasama. Katabi mo pa sa kama,” her father told GMA News.

A medico-legal examination conducted by barangay authorities proved that Jella was raped.

Her family will file charges against the suspect on Monday.

“Kailangan pagbayaran niya ‘yung ginawa niyang kasalanan. Kailangan mabigyan ng hustisya ‘yung bata para ‘yung istilo niya hindi niya magawa sa iba na mabiktima ng babae na abusuhin niya,” the father said. — Julia Mari Ornedo/DVM, GMA News
