Brother Eddie Villanueva’s wife Sister Dory passes away

Sister Dory Villanueva, wife of evangelist Brother Eddie Villanueva and mother of Senator Joel Villanueva, passed away on Tuesday.

She was 73.

In an Instagram post, the senator shared a photo of him holding Sister Dory's hand.

"Paalam sa pinakamamahal ko sa lahat ng mahal," the senator wrote in a caption.

Joel also shared a bible passage from the book of Job.

"[T]he Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord," the senator said.

Sister Dory was admitted into the hospital on Sunday.

"So sorrowful as we may be, we are immensely grateful to God for our Ate Dory, and for the time we had with her," the Jesus is Lord Church said in a Facebook post.

"We are grateful that in her 73 years on earth, our lives collided with her, affecting and influencing us in ways we never would forget," it added.

The post said Sister Dory passed away at 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

"We have lost a spiritual mother, a competent teacher, a prayer warrior, and a model of faith. After going through fatal arrhythmia secondary to septic shock, Ate Dory is now resting in the arms of her Maker and Savior," the post said.

"She is now face to face with the God she served all these years, true to the words of St. Paul, 'For to me to live is Christ, to die is gain (Philippians 1:21)'," it added.

Public viewing details will be announced later. —Angelica Yang/NB, GMA News
