Eleazar: Residents outside homes without face mask can be apprehended
Authorities guarding enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) checkpoints can apprehend or send home residents not wearing face mask or any improvised face cover in accordance with the national government order in efforts to stem the spread of COVID-19.
In an interview on Friday on Super Radyo dzBB, Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar, Joint Task Force COVID-19 Shield, also clarified that any kind of face protection should be worn by residents while outside their homes in areas covered by the ECQ.

Authorities, he said, "May deny entry, apprehend, reprimand, or send home violators of the mandatory wearing of face protection" declared by the national government in connection with efforts to flatten the COVID-19 curve.
Likewise, Eleazar urged local government units to pass ordinances covering pernalty and sanctions on violators of the mandatory wearing of face covers.
Eleazar: Kailangan magpasa ng ordinansa ang mga LGU para sa ipapataw na parusa sa hindi magsusuot ng face mask.
