No aid yet for jeepney drivers coming from national gov’t — FEJODAP’s Maranan

Jeepney drivers have not received any assistance yet from the national government, according to the president of transport group Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines (FEJODAP) on Tuesday.

According to Maranan, it was Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno who had extended help to them by giving some of their members a sack of rice.

Maranan said FEDJODAP already submitted a list of their members to the Department of Labor and Employment for the assistance of the jeepney drivers.

She also appealed to the Department of Social Welfare and Development to give directly the government's assistance to the drivers as it would be difficult to distribute it if it will be given first to FEJODAP.

Maranan said.

Earlier, the Department of Transportation said the emergency cash subsidy for drivers of public utility vehicles was already approved by concerned agencies. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
