DOLE to process aid for displaced workers during Holy Week -IATF

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will continue to process this Holy Week the claims of displaced workers for financial assistance due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis.

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, spokesperson for the inter-agency task force on COVID-19 response, said on Wednesday that the DOLE field offices would continue processing establishment reports to speed up the release of the one-time cash aid worth P5,000.

He also said DOLE is no longer strictly requiring the submission of the company payroll in the establishment report.

“Any proof of payment of salaries and wages will be sufficient compliance with the requirement,” he said in a televised briefing.

Nograles said a total of 139,003 workers have already received the cash assistance, citing a report from the department.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) earlier approved the additional P5 billion funding for financial assistance for affected workers.
