DOH: COVID-19 tracker down until April 11 for ongoing improvements

The Department of Health's online tracker of suspected and confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the Philippines is currently under repair and will not be accessible until Saturday.

"We are currently completing all encoding backlogs of cases nationwide and harmonizing the various information systems used by the different subnational laboratories," the DOH said in a statement on Thursday.

"On Sunday, April 12, 2020, we will relaunch the tracker with updated graphs and charts which will be easier to understand," it added.

Further, the DOH said that anonymized patient-level datasets will also be made available for download to help the academic and research community.

Despite the microsite's downtime, the DOH said it will continue to provide COVID-19 case bulletins daily.

It added that queries on COVID-19 prevention, transmission, and management will still be entertained at call center numbers 1555 or 894-COVID.

As of April 8, the Philippines recorded a total of 3,870 cases of COVID-19, with 182 deaths and 96 recoveries. —Dona Magsino/LBG, GMA News
