LTFRB to issue special permits to allow limited PUV operations

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will issue special permits on Friday to allow a limited number of public utility vehicles (PUVs) to operate in areas under general community quarantine.

According to Carlo Mateo's Thursday report on Super Radyo dzBB, LTFRB chairman Martin Delgra III said that guidelines released by the Inter Agency Task Force will be strictly followed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The permits may be acquired starting Friday through the agency's website.

Buses and modified or modernized jeepneys will also be given priority due to its high-passenger capacity amid the implementation of social distancing measures.

Motorcycle taxis are still not allowed, the LTFRB said. —LDF, GMA News
